About College

Founded on 14^th July, 2014 Government Post Graduate College, Sitarganj is located in lush green tarai region of district Udham Singh Nagar in Sisona village at Haldwani –Sitarganj road. It is about 50km away from district headquarter Udham Singh Nagar. The college was founded by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Vijay Bahuguna Ji to provide quality education to the students of nearby locality which has  a variety of population. Many of the students are economically weaker  and  of tribal section of society. The college is affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital and plays an important role in educating, empowering and enabling 75% of girl population of the area pursuing higher education.

            Initially the college was started  with six subjects of Arts faculty Hindi, English, Sociology, Political Science, History and Education at graduation level. With the aim of getting more faculties and promoting reserch and innovation, faculty of Science and Commerce were started from session 2018-19. It was upgraded from UG to PG with the commencement of classes at Post Graduate level in session 2023-24 with six subjects of Arts faculty namely Hindi, English, Sociology, Political Science, History and Education. It also has a study center of Uttarakhand Open University from  

            To develop moral and social responsibilities among students, the college offers extra curricular and extension activities like NSS, Rovers-Rangers, Red Cross Club, Sports and Departmental activities. To accomplish all curricular and co-curricular activities,the college is endowed with highly qualified, energetic and supportive faculty in all the departments.
