Founded on 14^th July, 2014 Government Post Graduate College, Sitarganj is located in lush green tarai region of district Udham Singh Nagar in Sisona village at Haldwani –Sitarganj road. It is about 50km away from district headquarter Udham Singh Nagar. The college was founded by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Vijay Bahuguna Ji to provide quality education to the students of nearby locality which has  a variety of population. Many of the students are economically weaker  and  of tribal section of society. The college is affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital and plays an important role in educating, empowering and enabling 75% of girl population of the area pursuing higher education.

            Initially the college was started  with six subjects of Arts faculty Hindi, English, Sociology, Political Science, History and Education at graduation level. With the aim of getting more faculties and promoting reserch and innovation, faculty of Science and Commerce were started from session 2018-19. It was upgraded from UG to PG with the commencement of classes at Post Graduate level in session 2023-24 with six subjects of Arts faculty namely Hindi, English, Sociology, Political Science, History and Education. It also has a study center of Uttarakhand Open University from  

            To develop moral and social responsibilities among students, the college offers extra curricular and extension activities like NSS, Rovers-Rangers, Red Cross Club, Sports and Departmental activities. To accomplish all curricular and co-curricular activities,the college is endowed with highly qualified, energetic and supportive faculty in all the departments.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Government degree college, sitarganj (udham singh nagar) was established in 2014 by efforts of chief minister of uttarakhand shri vijay bahuguna ji.  The college is located at peaceful village sisona on sitarganj haldwani road.

The college is affiliated to the kumaun university, nainital since its establishment. The college was started with six subjects in arts faculty namely hindi, political science, history, sociology, english and education but from the new session 2019-20, the college is going to introduce undergraduate course in faulty of commerce and science with the aim of providing better opportunities to the students. The college has uttarakhand open university centre in its campus.

The college offers extracurricular activities namely nss and rover rangers in order to develop moral values among students with the best quality of higher education. With its modern infrastructure facilities and library , it emphasis to aid students in their studies.

 The college is endowed with highly qualified, energetic and supportive faculty in all the departments.

It also contributes in the motional programme like swachh bharat abhiyan, unnat bharat abhiyan, voter awarness etc. With the aim to evolve  humanistic attitude and spirit of service.
